Have you ever opened an email or a letter and wished you hadn’t? Or maybe you have answered the phone call that you really didn’t want to get!

If you have worked in Education then often the worst phone call that people dread coming through is the Ofsted one. It can throw the best of people in to mad frenzies pushing their stress levels through the roof.

We’ve only been church planting for five weeks and already there is an instant dislike to us being here!

When people started to run in the Church saying they were being chased; you can imagine how alarmed we were! What was going on out there? What was different? All we had done is put out a Banner for ‘One Church’.

Picture Simon’s face as he started to load up Squarespace. Bless, he was so excited that he was finally ready to push the button that said ‘Publish’.

He really was not prepared for what would happen next! This should have been the easy bit; I mean come on how hard can it be to press one button?

Well that is it, our vision and value talks are finished.

We know that this is where it will get tougher for us. None of us have been regular preachers in the past but we know that this is what He is calling us to do now.

We have both been working hard behind the scenes on the website and yet there is still so much work to do on it!

If we are being totally honest, the website was nearly finished last week but Simon got up one day and simply decided he didn’t like what had been created. Literally he has just scrapped it completely and will now not even use anything from it!

What do you do when your entire worship team is away at the same time? You get over yourself and you go ‘old school’!

We have to say that we were a little bit worried when we knew that both Leah and Abbie would be away at the same time on our 3rd week of Church Planting! We had all the questions of “What will we do”?

We are spending the month of October going through the book of Philippians with our team.

It oozes the vision and values of the church God is calling us to build. Even though we have not advertised it to the public, people have arrived and it is amazing to see some people that have always been near to our hearts.

Relevant subscriptions and Licences can be daunting especially if you are just starting out.

Fortunately we were well rehearsed in this area as part of our previous roles were ensuring that the legalities were in place at our previous church. We were a step ahead in that respect but it is quite frustrating that things really take time. At first glance, nothing is a quick fix.

Wow, you really do forget just how much equipment you need when you are starting from scratch.

If we have to do another order from Gear4Music then we are really going to lose the plot!

‘Never say never’ has become quite a catchphrase in our house!

Honestly, we are sure that at times God is just having a laugh with us. All the things that we were adamant on not doing have literally gone out the window and it actually feels so liberating.

I don’t think any one of us realised how knackered we were!

We would say tired but it just doesn’t seem to describe how we felt. We were totally spent!
