Simon’s story so far…

At the age of 4, my dad’s friend from work took me to Church with his son Justin. He also took us both to the Boys Brigade (think scouts but with better outfits!) and so I grew up in church. I discovered Jesus personally as a teenager however like many Christians I ended up living a double life!  I pursued a career thinking the car, the house, the holidays and the single life was really the ‘it’ thing! Sunday’s were different though as on that day it was all about God. Teaching in Rochdale and moving to Oswaldtwistle is when my life became more complete as this is when my faith really became my ‘all’. I found my true calling which was to help ‘build the church’. God’s timing is amazing and not long after I met Valda and my life took a very different turn to the one I had planned! I was instantly blessed with 4 sons and even though they were teenage tearaways, I loved them as my own. My heart is to see others know Jesus and for them to grow and live a full, complete and inspired life with God.

Valda’s story so far…

Growing up nothing was ever enough; I just wanted a buzz out of life. Money and power became my God and even having 4 sons couldn’t stop my life of crime. The more I filled my life with things, the emptier I felt inside. I cried out to Jesus at 29 when my family became Christians. They told me that Jesus loved me and that I could have a new way of living. I needed that but more importantly I wanted that. My ways had got me into some very dark places and so I simply asked Jesus to come in to my life and show me how to live. Literally my life did a U-turn, I felt whole and new. I found true freedom and I learnt that the buzz I was looking for was found in my relationship with God. Twenty two years later, now married to Simon and  there is no adventure I’d rather be on. My heart and passion will always be to see other people find what I have found. If Jesus can save and transform someone like me then imagine what He can do with you!
